multiversus

Beginner Tutorial is an available game mode in MultiVersus.

About

Beginner Tutorial is a practice game mode that, as its name implies, serves as a tutorial for beginner players to teach them the basic mechanics of MultiVersus. Clearing it for the first time will reward the player with Shaggy (Wonder Woman prior to the Season 1.03 Patch). This mode can be accessed and replayed in the main menu.

Intro Tutorial

Welcome! Here we'll teach you all the basics of brawling in the multiverse.

Fundamentals

Let's go over the fundamentals of combat, starting with movement. You can change your controls from the Settings Menu at any time.

Objectives:

Dodges

Dodges can be used to move quickly and evade enemy attacks.

Objectives:

Air Dodges

When in the air, you can perform Dodges in any direction. You can do two Air Dodges without touching the ground.

Objectives:

Attacks

Attacks are the staples of your brawling toolkit.

Objectives:

Specials

Your character also has Specials. These are powerful abilities for situational use.

Objectives:

Air Moves

Now let's go over Attacks and Specials in the air.

Objectives:

Combat

Knocking opponents off the screen is the key to victory.

Objectives:

Damage

Below each character is a number indicating how much damage they've taken. The higher Damage Number, the farther that character will be knocked back when hit.

Objectives:

Combo Attacks

Combo Attacks can be repeated to execute a unique string of Attacks. Try using your Combo Attack multiple times in a row.

Objectives:

Charge Attacks

Charging up Attacks makes them more powerful. You can identify a Charge Attack by the circular meter that appears when using them.

Objectives:

Unique Specials

Some Specials have unique properties. Shaggy's Neutral Special can be charged.

Objectives:

Shaggy's Ground Down Special picks up a sandwich that can be thrown.

Objectives:

Attack Decay

When an attack is used too often in succession, it incurs Attack Decay, reducing its Hitstun and Damage.

Objectives:

It's much harder to Ring Out enemies using decayed attacks, so try and use a variety of moves when fighting. Notice the weaker Hitstun and Damage between the decayed attack on the left compared to the right.

Objectives:

Practice

Well done! Let's practice what you've learned in combat!
